Atos and Red Bee Media have confirmed that they will continue to support the DPP Committed to Sustainability programme, an industry leading scheme celebrating and promoting good practice in environmental sustainability across the media industry.
As the threat of climate change becomes harder to ignore, many media companies are realising that playing their part in improving the sustainability of our industry is crucial.
First launched at the DPP Leaders’ Briefing in 2019, the programme has since helped over 40 media industry organisations understand their current status, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement when it comes to environmental sustainability.
Paul Moore Olmstead, Head of Global Media Business Development at Atos, says, “For all of us in the media industry, the time to act is now. Raising awareness is no longer enough, and we, at Atos, are pleased to continue supporting the DPP Committed to Sustainability programme. We are delighted to help organizations better understand their challenges and implement the policies needed to shift towards a more green society through the program.”
“We are proud and excited to continue supporting the DPP Committed to Sustainability programme as a main sponsor,'' says Edward Odevall, Chief Financial Officer at Red Bee Media. “The Programme provides an important foundation for making the media industry more sustainable, both through knowledge sharing and tangible actions taken by all member companies. There is a lot of work to be done and we are looking forward to continuing building a sustainable future together with our industry colleagues.”
The programme works by providing a practical tool to assess a company’s progress against key environmental measures, and a common framework for procurement teams to assess the environmental impact of their suppliers.
Once a company successfully completes the online Committed to Sustainability checklist, they will be given a sustainability score out of five, and awarded the DPP Committed to Sustainability mark.
