The DPP Leaders’ Briefing 2022 taking place from November 16-17 in London is set to be the biggest yet, and will welcome well over 700 innovators from across the media industry and the technology supply chain. Media professionals are invited to join their peers at the flagship industry gathering.
The Leaders’ Briefing is an exclusive conference and networking event bringing together the supplier and content provider community to share insight, develop relationships and create new business opportunities.
The 2022 edition of the DPP Leaders’ Briefing follows the same format as in 2021, when more than 600 DPP members attended the in-person media conference: senior representatives from 30 leading media organisations will share their top three priorities for the coming year.
“No other industry event provides so much focused insight in one place, all tailored to suppliers and content providers,” says DPP CEO Mark Harrison.
Workforce, business and technology transformation
In 2021 business, operations and technology leaders in broadcast and media said they were focused on engaging and developing their workforces to realise their transformation objectives.
More than half of the organisations made workforce one of their top priorities; and when this area was expanded to include related themes of business values, remote working, wellbeing and diversity, equality, and inclusion - more than two-thirds directly addressed workforce themes.
Media executives also cited business transformation, technology transformation, cybersecurity threats, and managing supplier relationships among their top priorities.
Ongoing support
The DPP Leaders’ Briefing 2022 is enabled by Headline Sponsor Google Cloud, Supporting Sponsors Amagi, Ateliere, Brightcove, Fastly, MediaKind, Ross Video, Signiant, Vubiquity, and WSC Sports, WiFi Sponsor Xytech, Refreshments Sponsor SDVI, and Programme Sponsor Pebble.
Google Cloud returns to support the event for the fifth year. In 2021, Head of Media Solutions Anshul Kapoor cited developing its workforce, diversity and sustainability as his top three priorities - with “sustainability coming to the top of the agenda for every media company”.
"Sustainability is coming to the top of the agenda for every media company."
A number of popular speakers are returning to share their insights. These include ZDF’s Robert Amlung, BT Sport's Andy Beale, Vice’s Tim Bertioli, TV2’s Morten Brandstrup, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Caroline Brown, PA Media’s Pete Clifton, News UK CTO Simon Farnsworth, Sky’s Cristina Gomila, SVT CTO Adde Granberg, BBC’s Sinead Greenaway, IMG’s Sheilagh Little and David Shield, A+E Networks’ Julie Mitchelmore and Matt Westrup, NRK’s Aditi Pandey, RTL Nederland’s Giovanni Piccirilli, ITN’s Jon Roberts, and RTÉ’s Richard Waghorn.
Sky Managing Director for Content Technology & Innovation, Cristina Gomila, outlined her customer focus in 2021.
Adde Granberg, CTO at Swedish national broadcaster SVT, completes a full house of DPP events. Adde took part in the European Broadcaster Summit in March 2022, and in a keynote interview with DPP CTO Rowan de Pomerai at the Media Supply Festival in Dulles, Virginia in May 2022.
Unique market insight
Rick Capstraw is Chief Growth Officer at Signiant. In 2021, as Chief Revenue Officer at Ateliere, he described the DPP Leaders’ Briefing as a unique opportunity to meet customers and gain market insight.
“The DPP Leaders’ Briefing is definitely critical for us in understanding the challenges and needs of our customers,” he said. “There is really not another event that I’ve been to where our customers are so open and transparent about what they are looking for and what they are trying to achieve - to get that at just one event is fantastic.”

Indeed, while the real action takes place on the stage - the DPP provides a unique platform and space for the whole media ecosystem to network, share and learn.
In the Business Lounge and at the Startup Zone attendees can meet industry innovators and strategic partners.
Following the conference DPP CEO Mark Harrison will produce the popular Leaders’ Briefing report. This unique publication pulls together all the priorities cited by media executives into an in-depth quantitative and qualitative digest of the major trends in media for the coming year.
