The DPP European Broadcaster Summit 2024 will take place in Munich from March 20-21, bringing together technology and business executives from more than 20 of the continent’s leading media organisations.
After two successful and highly engaging events in Berlin in 2022 and 2023, the third edition of the European Broadcaster Summit moves south to Bavaria, where leaders from European content providers will take part in exclusive workshop sessions with their peers before sharing with technology suppliers the major themes and industry challenges — and key messages about what it all means for vendor partners.
The European Broadcaster Summit is an invitation only event for DPP members. The distinctive workshop format is designed to promote collaboration between European broadcasters, and facilitate understanding and dialogue between the media companies and the supplier ecosystem.
Together, the broadcasters and tech providers will engage in high value conversations - facilitated by the DPP — that promote understanding and help tackle the industry’s biggest challenges.
Participating broadcasters will first engage in closed workshops covering five key topics. The European broadcasters will develop key messages to deliver to the supplier community. Having delivered those messages and shared end-user case studies, the broadcasters will be joined by the suppliers in group workshops to reflect on how tech providers can better support media organisations, and develop a series of key messages related to each of the five topics.
The contributing broadcasters include A+E EMEA, BBC, Canal+, CME, ERR, Mediaset, NPO, NRK, Proximus Media House, RTÉ, RTL Deutschland, RTL Hrvatska, RTL Nederland, Sky, SVT, SWR, Talpa, TF1, TG 4, TV2 Denmark, UKTV, Yle and ZDF — representing Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
The five topics to be covered are:
- Artificial intelligence
- Metadata & asset management
- IP infrastructure
- Hybrid cloud architecture
- Cloud production
The broadcasters will also take part in a Gallery tour of industry exhibitors, and all guests are invited to an exclusive Executive Networking Dinner.
DPP CEO Mark Harrison said the European Broadcaster Summit 2024 will build on the success of the first two editions.
"The European Broadcaster Summit provides a completely unique environment for peer to peer exchange between major European media companies; who take the product of those exchanges into a discussion with the wider community," Mark said.
"For a third year, the agenda has been co-created with significant input from European broadcasters. As the hosts, we look forward to bringing together so many organisations and facilitating this exchange between media companies and their suppliers which we hope will be of benefit to all DPP members."

Attendees in 2022 and 2023 said the European Broadcaster Summit was an "amazing" event, creating significant value and a common understanding of future roadmaps between media companies and suppliers.
