Like every other business, we’re having to rethink how the DPP will operate in the months ahead. Here are a few things we thought you might like to know.
Events
Our current default position is that the DPP is not planning to hold any in-person DPP events before July. We will, however, hold a number of online events. These will include our DPP At Home on 5 May, which, with amazing prescience, was already set to be about remote working.
We see this as an exciting opportunity to explore different ways of holding events, and of gaining new expertise. Physical meet-ups, and networking, will always be crucial to DPP members, but one benefit of this otherwise terrible situation, is that we expect in the future we will hold a greater range of event types: virtual, physical, and hybrids of the two.
If circumstances improve before July, then obviously we’ll review the situation.
Meanwhile, please keep a close eye on our events page and watch out for emails about specific online events.
Insight
We’ll continue to deliver DPP insight reports. In April we’ll publish two important new research pieces, Next Gen Supply Chains and Delivering to VoD. We’ll then begin further original research reports on architecting for the cloud, and new commercial relationships.
We’re also exploring a special piece of work relating to current events that we hope to announce soon. If you have any stories you’d like to share about the impact of this situation on your business, do please contact mark@thedpp.com.
Technology
All our technical project groups will continue as normal, but all meetings will happen online.
The DPP team
Like many other companies, we’ll be doing a lot more remote working in the weeks ahead. But we already have a flexible working policy, and our systems enable us to run our business from any location – as long as we have the internet! So if we can stay well – fingers crossed – we expect to be able to fully support our member companies.
Meanwhile, thank you – and stay well.
